Our experience: Don Juan - Coffee and Chocolate Tour, will take you to know the entire Coffee process, from the seed to the delicious cup of coffee. Once the coffee tour is finished, we will start with the sweetest part of the tour, the delicious chocolate. Like coffee, we will talk about the entire Chocolate process, from the seed to the delicious chocolate bar and we will end up selecting some members of the group to grind the cacao beans and make their own chocolate bar. Once finished you will have the opportunity to taste several types of chocolate such as Dark Chocolate, Milk Chocolate and White Chocolate. One of our main features is the infrastructure we have, since the Arenal Area is well known for having a very changing climate, it goes from being very sunny and humid to heavy rains, even with a electric storms on some occasions, that is why that 100% of our trails are protected and made of cement, which will allow to enjoy the tour on sunny or rainy days. During the tour we will be driving atvs around beaches, mountains and towns, also we will be visiting viewpoints in the top of the hills to get beautiful pictures, the tour starts at playa Brasilto where you are going to get clear instruction of how to operate the atvs, also you will get all the safetly equipment, after this we will start driving north from Brasilito, diving along the coast line, going around playa Brasilto, playa flamingo and playa Potrero, after this we will visit the top of the hills and enjoy at the viewpoint, from here you will be able to see the best ocean view, all along the way we will be looking for Howler monkeys, after this we will return to playa Brasilto and finish the tour. Other things to note Bring beach clothes, we will stop at beach and is optional if you want to swim on the ocean, sunscreen is very important and don’t forget your camera

After booking our experiences, you will arrive at our kitchen where you will be very welcome and where you will share a good time with an authentic Costa Rican family. After introducing ourselves and getting to know each other over a refreshing drink, we will take you on a tour of our organic garden, where you will learn about the different crops and aromatic plants, followed by picking some of the ingredients that we will use for the preparation of our dish. When we return to the kitchen we will prepare a refreshing mojito to proceed to prepare a typical dish with fresh ingredients, produced by us and our neighbors. If you come with more time than agreed there is a good chance to observe some animals such as frogs, birds and sloth that live in our garden.

This is not a commercial coffee tour, it is an educational experience to create awareness in the only organic specialty coffee plantation in the Monteverde area, located in the Ecological Sanctuary, a 48 hectares family project focused on conservation, sustainability, agroecology, education and culture. In a guided workshop by an expert where you will learn from the basics of ancestral agriculture, how we create our own organic fertilizers, then you will know the coffee gardens planted in the forest that surrounds the Ecological Sanctuary, the drying area, and the process that involves the specialty coffee (history, plantations, growth, development, varieties and the science of flavor to prepare a good coffee). After leaving the forest, we will enjoy a guided coffee tasting, sharpening the senses to recognize defects, attributes, aromas and flavors in different qualities of coffee. Finally, we will create an interactive demonstration of the science of flavor and all the variables that an alchemist applies in the preparation of a coffee using different infusion methods. This workshop is an experience that will expand your knowledge of the world of coffee and help you become a home barista and an informed consumer. Welcome to my home! First I will explain you how the Costa Rican diet has impacted the longevity and health of locals. Then you will learn why I chose the specific ingredients for the 6 traditional dishes that we will cook: - Empanadas - Arroz con Pollo (perfumed rice with chicken) - Gallo Pinto (traditional rice and beans) - Tortillas con Queso (handmade tortillas with local cheese) - Picadillo de Papa (potatoes in chunks with ground beef) - Fried Yuca I will demonstrate, oversee and guide the class so that you are the one who is cooking. My goal is that you can replicate the recipes when you return back home. One of the highlights that guests love the most is that you will keep plenty of yummy leftovers, so your experience remains for the following day. I recommend you booking days before departing CR. These recipes have been transmitted generation after generation. I learned them from my mother and they will be handed to you. I will explain to you on what occasions we normally cook them, what are the secrets for the best taste and stories behind these dishes. Making tortillas and empanadas are perfect activities for children, they love playing with corn dough, I do that with my little grandson Samuel when he visits me. Experience the beauty of Jaco Beach from on the back of a horse during this small-group horseback riding tour. Follow your guide along winding beach trails, which grant you beautiful sea views, feel the ocean breeze in your hair while you ride. Travel at a slow pace so that you can take in your surroundings and see local wildlife, which your guide points out. Choose from several departure times to suit your schedule We'll start heading south along the Jaco shore. We will take stops on the way at different sites to enjoy the views. The route has beautiful sites from where you can photograph stunning sunsets (if you choose to ride in the afternoon), rock formations shaped by the repeated fall and rise of the sea, and spot holler monkeys up in trees if it is the right time. Jaco is famous for its waves so you will also see many surfers riding the waves of this wonderful beach. This will be a Pura Vida style Tour on the beach and forest with our great horses. You will watch surfers, nature and animals from the saddle. This place is unique and magical, especially early in the morning or at sunset.

This is the smaller version of my "Bribri: chocolate and waterfall" - tour. Which means it's without lunch, without waterfall and which much less time to talk and get to know Bribri culture. Still I would like to take the afternoon to share the heart of our culture with you - chocolate. We will see how it is prepared from fruit to drink and get to know some of the medicinal plants that complement it. The meeting point is infront of the "Colono" in the "Cruze de Hone Creek". It is a big shop right at the road from Puerto Viejo to Cahuita. At this point there is also the crossing with the road that leaves the coast and leads to Bribri, Sixaola and the indigenous territory. It's easiest if you have your own car. If not please contact me, so I can organize transportation (it's not included in the price of the tour!) Starting at the "Colono" I will show you the way to get into the indigenous territory and we will visit Catatu's family project where we experience everything about cacao and chocolate.

All Levels Surf Lessons at Playa Espailla Norte in Manuel Antonio, hosted by my co-worker Glen and his team. After meeting at our place, we will start with the safety instruccions, i will also give you some tips on how to take most of the advantage of this lessons. Around 15 minutes later we will go inside the water and start practicing first with the smaller waves, as many times as necessary until you will stand up on your board. As you get use to it, we will be taking you deeper for bigger waves. This is a 2 hours lesson, then, you can keep using your board to practice on your own, if you feel like you still need longer time with the instuctor, we are happy to reschedule a new lesson. *** FREE roundtrip transportation provided from Curubande downtown to the Waterfall *** Let us know if you need transportation and we can quote you the service with a local driver from town. Our day starts by meeting at our office located 20 min away from Liberia downtown through the small villages of Colorado and Curubande. We count with two parking lots at our location in Curubande where you can leave your car safe while we do the hike. From Curubande we will take a 4WD for 1 km that will take us to the entrance of the waterfall trail and here is where the hike begins. The waterfall is well hidden away on the outskirts of Rincon de la Vieja Volcano . The trail is 1.3 Miles (2 Kilometers) singletrack so together it is 4 km. There are some climbing to do in elevation and some caves to go across. Later to reach the waterfall we have to swim 25 meters through a beautiful turquoise river canyon. This is a local experience that takes place where the Blanco and the Colorado rivers cross through, forming canyons and beautiful scenery which is why the water in their pools have that special turquoise tint.

We will meet in Gavilan de Upala, the northern area of Rincon de la Vieja Volcano. This is a basic to intermediate hike so we will take the trail adapted to your capacity and conditions. There are two trails We will hike for 25 minutes on nature trails where we can find different species of birds and plants until we reach El Santuario Waterfall. The waterfall is well hidden away on the outskirts of Rincon de la Vieja Volcano . The trail is 1 Kilometer singletrack so together it is 2 km. There are some hiking to do in elevation and some caves to go across. Later to reach the waterfall we have to swim 25 meters through a beautiful turquoise river canyon.

Some of the instruments that you will enjoy listening are crystal bowls, chimes, shamanic drum, flutes and the sound of my voice. When the moment comes, another meditation will bring us back to very gently address our attention to our bodies and space. You can enjoy time alone, integrating, observing, feeling or writing (bringing a journal its a good idea!) I can also accompany you through integration. If you don't have a lot of previous experience in front of the camera this is definitely the experience that you need, I will create a relaxed and fun environment for you to feel comfortable to play around in front of the camera. But don't worry, I have plenty of tips and tricks to help you always look your best with poses. In only 1 day your photos have been edited and uploaded to your online gallery and ready for you to print or share with family and friends!

We start the tour @ our office, located 50 mts. before the Park entrance (behind the restaurant "DONDE ALEX"). The tour takes from 2 to 3 hours walking (slowly) along the main trails of the Park and one of the white-sand beaches. While touring the main trails, you'll be able to observe numerous species of flora and fauna using Swarovski spotting scopes (the best in its class). As a specialized bilingual tour guide, I'll share my knowledge about the ecosystem for you to learn and enjoy the natural, historical, and cultural environment of this astonishing protected area (I call it environmental interpretation tour), more than just a walk in the Forrest Included in the journey, you will have 1 hour for recreation on the beach #3, considered the best in Costa Rica, don't forget your swimsuit and sunblock. Just before coming to the beach, I'll offer some snacks, fruit, water, or soda, which are included in the price, this takes place at the Park cafe. To end the tour, I can offer you two choices: 1) stay at the beach longer by your own 2) we split ways at the main entrance (where we started). Any questions, please give me a call or text me. On our 600 square meter property we are growing dragonfruit, guanábana, sugarcane, starfruit, bananas, limes, lemongrass, tarragon, cacao, coffee, katuk, ginger, turmeric, yuca, yampí, camote, pineapples, cucumber, chiles, and more! We will teach you about the medicinal plants we have growing here and give you a crash course in raising chickens. We have a beautiful collection of orchids and tropical flowers. This is a great experience for anyone with an interest in gardening, plant medicine, permaculture, keeping chickens, or growing your own food, homesteading, and becoming more self-sufficient. We love to see the excitement on our visitors’ faces as they discover new ideas and learn a little more about where our food comes from.
